Tudor Classic Black Watch Dive Watch launches a new gold and steel model TUDOR Black Bay S & G, and is equipped with a Tudor-made movement MT5612, introducing the calendar function into the Black Bay series. This classic watch is designed to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the birth of the Tudor Dive Watch. It inherits the tradition of exquisite craftsmanship and creates a new watch in gold. It is named S & G, that is, steel and gold, adding new color to the Black Bay series.
The watch follows the lines and proportions of the Black Bay series, while the rotating bezel and winding crown are made of gold. The central link of the steel bracelet also uses this precious metal, giving the watch a more formal and elegant look
The MT5612 movement is based on the first self-made movement introduced by Tudor in 2015, and has been modified to match the unique temperament of Black Bay S & G. Hour, minute and second display functions are a major feature of the Black Bay series. This series also introduces the calendar function. This movement has excellent performance, precision and reliability, impeccable and has a power reserve of up to 70 hours. The frequency of the movement is 28,800 times per hour (4 Hz), which is adjusted by the inertia fine-tuned silicon balance spring, and fixed by the cross plate, making the movement more reliable. In addition, this movement has also been awarded the Swiss Observatory Certification by the Swiss Precision Timepiece Testing Center (COSC).
As in TUDOR’s new work launched in 2018, all the bracelets are replaced with new and improved rivet bracelets, and the gold bracelets echo the design of the case and the dial.
The Tudor watch took inspiration from the brand’s folding rivet straps from the 1950s and 1960s to design the Black Bay S & G strap. The rivet strap is famous for its original design features, and the links on both sides are connected by rivet heads, presenting a unique stepped structure. The Black Bay S & G’s strap incorporates the two classic aesthetic features mentioned above on the one hand, and uses solid links to integrate modern manufacturing techniques into it. There are three straps available for this model. In addition to the steel strap, the other two are a steel discount brown antique belt and a brown textured strap. This textured strap is made by a 150-year-old family business in St-Etienne, France, using traditional jacquard technology. The textured strap is a major feature of Tudor and is considered an innovative design.
